Donald Gordon Nelson, age 60, of St. Charles, Missouri died Thursday evening, January 24, 2013 at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles following a lengthy illness.  He was borm July 14, 1952 in Jamestown, New York, the son of Douglas and Elaine Weilacher Nelson.

Donald had been employed by Edlen Garage Doors as an installer prior to his illness and had honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his children, Lynn Hults (Matt), Melissa Lee (Robert) and Kevin Nelson; sisters, Sheryl Fick (Neil), April Fowler (Max) and Tammy Surdam; a brother, Chuck Surdam and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Elaine Surdam Nelson and Edward C. Surdam and a brother, Dennis Nelson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services, 2115 Parkway Drive, St. Peters, Missouri [See attached map].  Interment, with full military honors, will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
